I mean, Lingerie sections take up like 1000 sq ft of store space with bras and panties proudly displayed on padded hangers, specialty drawers, or arranged in careful rows on a table.
Boy/men underware... the few styles available are often stuffed into a tube or a plastic package on a single one sided rack next to the 8' wall of black socks.
Talk about unfair and gender bias.

It's the same reason women's clothing is priced higher. Sex sells. Women are encouraged to spend their money on "sexy" lingerie. Men don't have that same kind of pressure. Sure, women find some men's underwear more attractive than others but it's not the same.
It's completely based on gender bias. I can't say if guys get jealous but that's how it is.

Yeah there is a bias. That's what got me interested in wearing panties. panties come in better colors than guys underwear.

I feel like the clothing industry fucks everyone in the ass as it is. Men get limited options and shamed for interest in the opposite section; women get gyped, size-shamed, and treated somewhat condescendingly at times when shopping in the opposite section.
I don't know what it's like for men, but personally I've dealt with paying more for same-sex clothing, and size-shaming. I've actually never been treated badly when I've shopped for men's clothing- but that's to be expected at Spencer's and Hot Topic where everyone does that. But I've also gotten a lot of help in stores like Aeropostale, where it's not nearly as common for girls to drift away from the clearly-marked ladies section.
I feel that people are becoming a lot less heteronormative in retail- and tbh, for such a thankless job, retail workers are superheroes as it is, my god.

It's so annoying having basically no clothes that fit me at this age, and being a guy makes it even worse!
First off, I'm in that weird time where size 12 is too small and size 14 is too big, so all my clothes look stupid on me. And to add insult to injury, the other day I went to 3 shops to get some new tshirts (I've only got about 4 that fit well) and in all of those shops there were butt loads of women's clothes (ie 3/4 of the whole shop) and the only men's clothes were crammed right up the back in the corner. Heck, there's more bras then there were men's clothes! And even though I went to 3 shops, it only found one good shirt. Not amused.

I guess that depends on your style really- most of my shirts are men's shirts. The one in my profile is a men's shirt- heck, the one I'm wearing now is a men's shirt.
I feel like department stores, etc have boring choices, but stores with graphic tees tend to be pretty cool imo

no not really. because the stores I go to they have a good variety of the underwear I like to buy and there is always the internet. so there is always plenty of opportunities to buy underwear if you want something which is not at a particular store

i thought it was because girls like to shop and buy stuff they don't really need.
for me, if i do go shopping, it's grab some underpants and go home.

Honestly, I think women's underwear having too much emphasis on sex appeal is a lot more unfair. Sexy underwear isn't practical. Why does every single clothing item for young women have to be sexy?

a good point. even if you are buying nicer underwear, most guys usually have some type of preference so they know where to go, though I do think about what I am going to look like for when I am around my gf and stuff , but even I don't spend loads of times just looking at underwear

haha very true, but still, guys like to see girls in nice underwear, well girls like to see us in nice underwear too. plus if you are going to be making out before or whatever, it can be nice to be in some nice underwear. plus, nice underwear can give you a boost of confidence too

doesn't really bother me. Girls are just more into fashion, that's why there's three floors of womens clothing at a department store and one floor for men. Anyway on the underwear, I get mine at American Eagle and that's just fine for me.
