So we are a pretty open and accepting group here. How many of you would freak out if people you went to school saw what you wrote here? Is your school really cool about two dudes or two chicks dating? If two jocks are known to be blowing each other can that get out? Is your own same-sex experimentation known by others? Can two girls who go down one one another still sit at a popular table at lunch? Can gay or lez dorky kids survive at your school? It's cool that we are brave and open and supportive, but are our schools as tolerant (the collective "kid mind")?

I can't say mine is 100%, and I'm a fairly liked guy....

My personal group of friends are pretty open and accepting to all kinds of people and things, so there are no problems there. As far as the school over all, its really hard to tell, but I havent seen any outright bias or discrimination among the student body towards students that are different. I guess having a zero tolerance policy in place has a lot to do with it as well, but I cant say its 100%.

My own circle of friends(which is very small btw) is very open and accepting. However the major crowd out here is not like that. There is bound to be an issue with homosexuality ranging anywhere from ostracism to beating up.

I live in a very homophobic state and in a rural county, so it is pretty conservative. My mates are pretty open, but older are more radical right. I do not know of any gay or bi guys or girls in my school. We are deep in the closet and not about to step out. It is sort of our own "don't ask, don't tell" rule. I do know a guy who graduated a few years back who is gay, was in a gay relationship with another student at the time, and absolutely no one ever suspected it. We are years away from openness.
