So one of my ex friends who she and I still get along pretty well throws parties all the time. I've never been to any high school party and would really like to, would it be wrong to ask her to invite me to one? I feel like if I dont I'll never experience one. And please don't give me answers saying that it's not what everybody says it its like or how it's not worth going to one.

Why not? High school parties can be hit and miss but I've been to a few good ones back when I was in high school.

most of my first social events were self-invited at first. I found out later that they hadn't invited me because they didn't think I'd be interested. after I went the first couple of times and had a blast, I'm invited to most now. just gotta put yourself out there.

You can try. No guarantee she'll say yes, but she might
