So I may be alone here, but I kinda am attracted to my English teacher. He's a jock, our baseball coach and just good looking. It really effs my head up because I love girls. He's a great dude and I look up to him. I Feel weird about it cause I gotta act normal around him and not crush on him like a chick would. But I'd totally love to hang with him and be like a bro. I never would and I hope he can't tell that I like him that way, I'd be embarrassed. Anyone else going thru something like this now or in the past?

It's not unusual to look up to some of your teachers. It sounds like in this case, that you see him as a role model. Not uncommon to find qualities that you admire in elders or peers that you respect. I'd say it is quite normal. You see it all the time with younger students and their older friends, or with students and likeable, approachable teachers. I had teachers and other seniors I looked up to as well. So don't worry, don't look upon it as a problem!

I can't ever tell him; he's my coach and a great teacher. And it would put him in an awful spot. I am just wondering if I'm the only one right now on here whose dealing with this type of shit. It's tough too because hes a dude and all my buds are on the team too so I can't really talk about this particular guy with them.

I've heard if str8 guys liking a female teacher, so ur problem isn't uncommon.

My advice to u is the same for getting over anyone, try to avoid them or switch out of his class. And do NOT fanasize about him or ur problem will only get bigger.

It's more than role model though, lol. He's a young guy and I genuinely am attracted to him. I've jerked thinking about him, and I totally try and peek at him if he's pisding in the team field house locker room. But I don't consider myself bi and don't feel this way about dudes in general.

Sexuality is a complicated thing, and often is directly related to whether you look up to someone or not. There is no need to impose a certain label upon yourself, as long as you understand your own sexuality. The fact that this teacher is a good role model to you likely affects your feelings, but it is important that you don't beat yourself up over how you feel. As long as nothing happens between you, and you stay safe, there is no need to worry, as what you are feeling is natural and has been happening for centuries.

First, it's good you're acknowledging that you can't act on these feelings because it would be illegal for him and inappropriate for you to do so.

That aside, you are totally not the only one to crush on a teacher. I had a massive crush on my grade five French teacher. Yes, I was ten, but I knew what a crush was and she was really pretty. I've had some crushes on high school teachers as well. Totally normal.

As for not considering yourself bi, he's young but he's also a teacher which means he's older than you, more developed, etc. It could be that you're simply in a part of your life where you're curious and attracted to that stage of development in a man and, as you get older, it may go away. Or it may not. No one can determine your sexuality for you. If you don't think it's more than a sort of 'role model crush' then it probably isn't.

Don't worry about it so much, I'm pretty sure most of us have encountered at least one teacher or authority figure in our lives that we've felt like this about.
