I have been doing really bad in school for the past three years (I go to a public high school). I feel like my mental disorders interfere with my work and that's when I get anxious and I stop going to class. I've had countless meetings with my guidance counselor and she tried her best to make sure that I was in class and that learning wasn't too hard for me. I just got back a week ago and even if I'm in school, I still get very anxious and depressed and I look at my fingers instead of participating; I want to go home so badly. I wondered if home/online school would work best for me now, but I'm not familiar with it.

Can anyone give me their opinion on public school vs. home/online school? Can I still get into a college with home/online school? Will I be antisocial? Maybe pros and cons for both if possible? Thanks!!

I think, judging by this story, home schooling would be good due to the fact you seme very upset with public school. That's not a good thing so I'd recommend trying home school. I'm sure you'd still be able to get into alright college with home/online school, just maybe not super good colleges.

Yeah, homeschooling sounds like a pretty good idea.
Personally, I started online schooling early in 7th grade due to anxiety, and the people in my school being 100% grade A pricks.

When it comes down to it, school is all about learning. You can't learn if you're constantly distracted/overwhelmed. So I would definitely recommend home/online school for you. But do whatever you're most comfortable with. In the end, it's completely up to you, and your choice is the only one that matters.

Homeschooling would definitely be a great choice for you.

Here's a great information site on homeschooling, it will answer any questions you may have.

If you think homeschooling will be good for you, try it.

I'm not too keen on homeschooling, I say this because, in a traditional school environment you learn how to socialize, also you learn how to deal with people and you build a sense of self-identity. Taking yourself out of that environment may lead you to be isolated and not have many friends (since you're in school at home, alone).

Going to a traditional school was hell for me, but I learned how to develop a thick skin, deal with others, develop a learning style, focus on my concentration, make friends, build relationships and have fun. Many of these things you cannot do in a non-traditional school environment.
