Little sibling comparison thing

Is it just me or do all siblings hate it when their parents compare them to their other siblings especially grade-wise it bugs the crap out of me and it's really irritating I don't like being compared to anyone mainly because I'm my own person I'm not like everyone else especially not that sibling like when they say things like "that's why she makes straight A's" it's sooooo annoying and I just feel like I can't do anything right but then I sit down away from everybody in my own little world, close my eyes and just relax but anyway I just wanted to know if I was the only one?

No your not. I get compared with my older sister a lot. I guess my younger sister has the both of us to be compared to. And I do have my own happy place to escape to if things get to crazy.

Lol, my step-mother used to compare me to her children all the time. "Why can't you be like _____" and "_____ would never do that". It was worse because she didn't raise me. Her children, despite being my siblings from a young age, were raised in a completely different environment than I was and yet I was expected to be like them.

And then my step-mother started hating me because I didn't conform to how her children acted. It wasn't a fair comparison at all and from someone who barely knew me.

I hate it when I get compared to my brother. And I'm very certain my brother hates it when he gets compared to me. I have good grades and he is very good at sports. We are polar opposites of each other.

Am a only child but I do have a cousin a bit younger we don't get compared as we are pretty much alike.

my step mum is ALWAYS comparing us when im at my dads my step sis gets the fuss because shes younger well behaved polite its like stfu there like do this like her do that like her

My brother is much older than me.. so nobody really knows we're brothers.. my dad and I get mistaken for brothers all the time..

Yes! I hate it. The constant comparison, the pressure to be 'as good as my sister.' ._. I know that we're different people, but we have a lot of the same interests and look REALLY alike, so that leads to people comparing us and treating us like we're the same. That might be why we used to [try to keep my distance now] fight a lot, all of the sibling rivalry...

Yeah, I got that a lot. Whenever I messed up a bit they'd talk about my sister, and when I proved them wrong they'd just look the other way saying that comparisons are unfair. And when I'm behind again they'd bring it up.

At least at high school I couldn't give a damn about grades.
