Want to get a checkup but don't want to

Ok so I am a little overweight and want to get a checkup to make sure I'm fine and all of that stuff. Not really proud of saying this but I want help from the doctor for losing some weight and overall health. The only thing I am afraid of is the checkup part. I would like to know what to expect during this because I have never had a checkup in my life. I'm also kinda insecure about taking off my shirt during the checkup. Anyone know what to expect and what to ask if I were to ask my mom or dad to go to the doctors for a checkup?

the check up shouldnt be scary at all; the doc will listen to your heart, check your vital signs, maybe even check your genitals for abnormalities, but nothing too drastic. he will probably have you undress and put on one of those hospital gowns so you arent completely naked. its a pretty simple visit and you will be in and out in no time.

either that or underwear. my doctor has my strip to my underwear, except for the parts where it needs to come down. to the OP it is nothing to be scared of. I promise, there is nothing about you the doctor has not seen many times before. in fact, he will be very happy to help you make better life choices. asking him will be a great thing.

You should get a check-up. Knowing your health problems (if any) is more important than being nervous for 15 minutes or less. They won't judge you. They are doctors, they have seen literally dozens and dozens of bodies that are different shapes and sizes. But the most nervous part for me at least is if they check the genitals. They mostly just check your nutsac for any lumps for cancer.They'll also ask a few questions and check your eyesight, ears, maybe knees, mouth all that good stuff. Overall, better to go.

It's good that you want to improve your health, your doctor will be happy to help. As for the check up, most likely hell just do a physical, which is pretty much just checking for any abnormalities. You may have to undress, but don't worry, the doctor isn't going to make fun of you or anything for being overweight, he's seen it a million times before.

Yeah, & he may want to check your prostate which means his finger up your butt to press on your prostate & make some pre come out of your penis which he may put on a microscope slide to look at. Don't freak out, it's a normal check. It's in your best interests.

first, good for you to want to lose weight and get a doctor's check-up. you definitely should talk to your parents about it - although if you are a teen they probably have been taking you to a doctor anyway to get medical records and vaccinations etc, so this is just a more formal thing where the doc will use a stethoscope to listen to your heart and lungs, probably take an electrocardiogram, look inside your mouth, eyes, nose and ears, do a quick check of your junk and that's about it. should take 20 minutes. the ONLY thing that will even be mildly painful (all the rest is NOTHING) is they will probably take some blood to check that too. That will last all of three seconds. So relax, bro!

There isn't really much to fear during a check up. Now, if you are in line waiting to get a tumor removed, then you should start breaking into a nervous sweat. Don't worry about it.

Loosing weight can be made fun. Try like going outside and jogging with friends(not that I would ever participate voluntarily in a physical activity XD)
