Hey guys, ever since i was little, any meds I have been put on to control my ADHD have caused my hyperactivity to be vented to my hands, i have to constantly move them so unless I am doing something with both hands like typing, I pick with one hand, at my face, or my legs.
Is there any way I can control this? Simple things like playing with a coin or a ball in my hand work somewhat but my hands get 'bored' as I like to call it and go back to picking.

different things can work for different people. are you send a doctor or maybe a behavior specialist/psychologists? I am sure they would be able to help you find something. behavior counselors/psychologists/specialists are trained in modifying behavior for a living. if you can and are not already, maybe trying seeing one, they would be trained in trying to help you find something. best of luck

Have you been put on stimulants or nonstimulants? That may be a part of it, if you're noticing things like this and it's really bothering you it maybe a good idea to talk to you doctor and see if switching meds is an option. If not you can't conciously try to not move then which over time may break the habit.

I believe my meds are one of those, and it's not really a habit but more of a tick I have with the meds, take me off the meds and the picking stops entirely, but put me on the meds and i start picking.
Any of the meds I get put on will pull this tick out of me and it results in me scarring my face over time.
