It appears as if the subject of a good romance novel has made itself a reality.
Here's the story. This is my last year of high school, and as such there's going to be the big dance and ball and party towards the end. I guess you could say it's what the Americans call a prom.
I've got my date already, however my two best and closest friends don't and this is where the controversy starts. I'm going to call them Sean and Harry.
Sean is my closest friend, and he's been trying to get this girl (who we'll call Jane) to be his date for well over a month, to make matters worse, I've been encouraging him. Myself and Jane have grown up together, so we know eachother in a brother and sister sort of way. Harry already asked Jane two months ago to be his date, and at the time she had a date so she said no.
Now after all this time and a fight with her former date, Jane remains dateless. Sean is on the verge of asking her, but this morning Jane called me and asked me if Harry has a date yet - and I said no, and I asked if she'd want me to see if Harry would ask her - she said yes, and after asking him, Harry was excited and obviously said yes.
So like, if you're not lost at this point, my question is this: what should I tell Sean? I've been encouraging both of them to find a proper date, and I'm stuck in the middle now because I want the best for both of them and I don't know what to do. Please give me some advice!
