My random ass question of the day:

What are your thoughts on Michael Jackson?

The reason, my two youngest nephews are OBSESSED with his music and his dance moves, even though one of them was two when the guy croaked and the other wasn't born yet. My mom bought them an MJ Just Dance-esque video game as a late X-Mas present, and if I hear about Billie Jean one more time, I will rip my eardrums out.

I'm more upset about Amy Winehouse having died than him. I personally don't identify with his music.

Dude.
Michael Jackson's not their lover
He's just a dude, who claims their taste in music
But the kids, they're not his sons

My mom is a really big Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson and Jackson fan in general.

So I guess I kinda became a fan because of her. I really love how diverse his songs are and usually every album he had each song was different and had a different style to it.

Also like how lots of his unreleased stuff is starting to come out in new albums.

He was a very talented individual and a brilliant entertainer, I like some of his music, but I think he was a tortured soul to some degree.

For me was a great musician and his preformances with Slash in London in early 00' were really good.

Haha, I became a fan of Michael Jackson with the same game!! lol
Before the game, I thought his music was cool and that he was a big musician and all that, but I thought he was kind of a creep because of the trails and everything. But after he died and I got the game, I started to learn more about him and I fell in love with the messages in his songs, and I became a big fan! I'm pretty sure I annoyed my family also lol so I can totally relate to your nephews. Eventually the game did become kinda boring and I began listening to other artists and music, but there was definitely a time where I was also crazy about Michael Jackson like your nephews seem to be lol

Michael set a standard when it came to popular music, but at the same time, did things his own way. Looking at his more famous songs, when you write them out on paper, it's all really simple. It's just the way it was played. Michael had everything down to an atom of what he wanted. He pushed everyone who worked for him to do better and the results turned out to what you hear now.

Speaking as a musician who has covered the music and spent laborious hours to get everything right, it gave me a lot of newly found appreciation for the hours Michael dedicated to his art. I don't listen to him much now, but I still go back from time to time.

Michael Jackson was a good singer, but also a great performer. Some of his concert videos are pretty stunning - his dancing, showmanship, and live singing was off the charts.

There's a couple songs I don't mind but he never really did much for me.
