I started by cutting with scissors almost a year ago, but recently, I "graduated" to razor blades. I feel terrible about it every time I cut now since I swore I would never use razor blades and I can feel myself getting worse, but I don't know what to do. What's the next step? Does it get any worse than cutting with razor blades, or will I just keep cutting deeper and deeper as I get used to it? I'm so scared because I don't feel any control over myself anymore.

The deeper you cut, the graver the danger of death or permanent injury resulting. You don't want that. May I ask, why do you feel like cutting yourself?

Honey, I could say all the bullshit about how it's not good to hurt yourrself and all the blalala (It's all true tho) but I want to be clear. It's only gonna get worse if you are scared of it. I know that it's fucking hard to stop cutting so I won't tell you to stop. I'll tell you to talk to someone that cares really much about you and tell this person everything. Tell him that you want him to support you the best way he can. I have a friend that came all the way from New Jersey to Montreal(Canada) to throw my blades away. If you really trust yourself and you tell yourself that you'll stop, you will surely cut less. It's psycology. If you ever need to talk to anyone, no matter the subject, happy or sad, rainy day or sunny day, message me ok? :)

Everyone starts off saying they won't resort to blades, we each start off with something different and end up caving in eventually. The key is gradually scaling back, don't cut deep, don't cut in vital areas, eventually scale back to something other than a blade until you feel the urges to dull. Stand strong, we're all scared of it to a certain extent. Just look through some stoppping methods and see what you think will work for you. This is a very scary thing and I'd advise you to try not get more caught up in it than you already are.

Well, you can't really get much worse than blades. Unless you start using things that can actually cut things off, like a saw. (Don't laugh, I know someone who did it) but yes, more than likely, if you don't control it and/regain awareness of your own depression, you'll start cutting deeper. You'll cut so you feel the pain. You'll probably start cutting less, but much, much worse. Please don't let it go this far. Talk to someone, or find a better way to vent. People do care. Because if you keep going you might end up hurting yourself permanently
