hey guys. i was planning on buying a gaming PC, but going back, the PS4 seems like a really good deal to me. Before PC gamers start going insane, hear me out...
I know PCs are better, more powerful, more handy and have cheaper games.
But i know i can't get a decent PC for less than at least 700$, and it's a pretty poor PC (say what you want, you can't play AC Unity or Watch Dogs at the same specs as the PS4 on a 400$ PC)
With that said, i never wanted to max out every game i own anyway, i don't play in 1080p (900p with FXAA is enough for most of my games) and i never go up to ultra settings (ive read a good article about the scam that is the 'ultra' setting, pushing you hardware far more than the 'high' one with little to no difference outside of still screenshots and i completely agree) BUT what i need is 60fps, i can't get enough of that. (im using a gaming PC only for gaming, btw)
And, from what i've seen, a lost of PS4 games seems to run at 60fps while staying visually impressive, while being cheaper, and it has a lot of great exclusives. But since devs wanna show off rather than producing smooth gameplay, im afraid we'll get soon games that runs at a 19/24 fps at best while being incredibly (and needlessly) detailed...
From that perspective, PC seems the obvious choice but adding 30 frames to a game is really adding 600$ to the initial price of a gaming system?
So, yeah, what should i go for? A less expensive PS4 or a gaming PC that im not intending to push the games to the max?

pc is the way to go at this point. many games are downgraded to run on consoles and alot of games are not 60fps on ps4. they are 30fps or have an unlocked framerate. not to mention games are hyped up to all hell and then turn out to be turds. on pc you dont have problems like these

thats a valid point, but pc means no infamous second son, no Last of us remastered (which is 60 fps btw) no uncharted 4 and no Silent Hills (well maybe this one will come to PC who knows) And it probably means no Tales of either (im a big fan of these RPG) But yeah, PC means emulators too, so it's a big plus for the PC. I guess the way to go would be getting both but im not that wealthy.

either spend over $1300 on a pc which will last you quite a few years like i did or get ps4.
also... umm... PC... master race!?!? *stupidly giggles and flails arms while running out of the room*

A kick-ass PC will of course provide better graphics, higher resolution, blah blah blah. I'd say go with the PS4, and save yourself from the frustration you get along with PC games as well. Bugs, random crashes, insane piracy protection. Who needs that shit?

Random crashes aren't just limited to PCs. Neither are bugs. Neither is piracy protection actually.

PC Masterrace all the way :D (though I play on a 360 sometimes for non-PC game like the HALO series)

PC has oldschool games which some find better than newer games.
PS4 has newer games and fits your budget so if you don't like old shcool games go PS4

a PC does have a higher initial cost, yes. but it's still the smarter investment imo.
versatility: even if you don't think you'd be using it for anything other than gaming, you will. and when you do, you'll say to yourself, "This is pretty awesome, glad I decided to go with this"
piecemeal upgrades: you can upgrade bit-by-bit over time as your budget allows. if a component fucks up, you can pull it out, drop in a cheap spare and RMA the part back for a new one.
fewer OS limitations: with Windows and Linux, you can run the software you want how you want, and "make it yours." the PS4 is a PC with a stripped-down OS that has had most of its functionality removed except for limited functions approved by Sony. if Sony's suits don't like it, you're hosed and your warranty is void.
cheaper games: a Steam account is an indispensable part of any gaming PC. Valve is well-known for its steep discounts on their game titles, and if you have the patience and a wishlist, you can build a gaming library for a lot less than you'd think.
buying a console for a few exclusive titles is the worst possible reason to buy one.

Personally, I prefer PC. I think PC is worth an expensive price.

Why is that the worst reason? Isn't the main purpose of a console, and the most important thing about gaming, is the actual games?
I think ill go with a PC, im still not sure about the buget i can allow to put in it, since new games will probably eat more and more power...

If you buy a decent pc, you can upgrade it everytime you have enough money. Pc all the way!

PC for me. If you want to turn down graphics fidelity/resolution; PC will give you the choice, opposed to being limited to whatever the devs choose to be the "Optimal" experience.
