MrIan, you don't need to talk to your parents about masturbation. It's a completely private thing that you do in the quietness of your bedroom that doesn't involve your mother or father's input. And it's completely normal, it is supported by doctors, good for your health and totally natural. We all need to release sexual energy at some point.

Never, too embarrassing, I avoid any sex talk as much as possible…period…walk/run away…hide… I am sure they know that I masturbate from the amount of time I spent in the bathroom, and I am fine with that, I just don’t want to hear them speak of it – too awkward. Basically I just have to be real private about it. I can't let mom or my younger brothers know that I'm doing it. If I get caught or mom finds evidence dad says I'll be in trouble for it. I was glad that he was able to bring that up because then I would be able to speak up about my experience on the topic, but just as I was about to talk, he mentioned that masturbation is a sin both from the perspective of the Bible and the perspective of society. To be honest, I was always taught that there are some things that I can do that is considered 'good' as long as I never hurt anyone during the process.
