I am a little confused about the placement of hair around your package. in every picture, video, and GIF I've seen, the whole area is shaved, hair is on the balls and around the base, but there is never any on the shaft itself. I have it there, but even all my friends don't have it there. Is it normal to have hair on the shaft?

Completely. They are the most annoying hairs though IMO so I at least definitely keep them shaved at all times. I wouldn't really go by any videos or pictures you've seen if you ask me unless their actual purpose is education.

I got some hair on my shaft and it's not a big deal for me. I do trim my pubes some times to make it look neat. Do not go by what you see on porn. If we did, then everyone would be shaved.

I think most guys have some hairs extending up the base of their penis, so don't worry about it.

as said, people do it in porn to make it look better. do what is comfortable for you. i trim mine , but am considering shaving

Yes it's pretty normal. It's different for all guys, just like the hair on your head is different then everyone else. However, it's not normal to have dense, thick hair on the shaft usually.

I have some hair on my shaft, but i dont have a lot. But i usually shave off all of my pubes (except my ass hair) at least once a month or so.

It's very normal but depending on your age your friends my not have grown any yet or they may have shaved it off which is what a lot of people do such as myself

I have some at the base of my shaft, but it probably depends from one person to another. There isn't a "normal" in those terms.
