Okay so I'm talking to this girl and most of the time she is really fun to talk to and we laugh and joke about everything and we're really flirty with each other. She always tells me she really likes me and I say I like her too, which I do most of the time. She does however suffer from depression and when she falls into one of her moods there is no talking to her because she will just go on about how **** her life is and everything sucks. She says that she's never in a good mood she just puts it on so people don't get annoyed with her, I don't believe that's true though. I tell her to cheer up and she gets mad at me for not understanding her!

We've met up a couple of times and everytime she just talks to her friends on her phone and barely shows me attention no matter what I do. Last time was a little better though and we had our first kiss but then she had a massive mood swing and just leant against the wall hugging her knees. I tried to comfort her but she told me to get off, started crying and then told me to leave.

That night she text me saying sorry and everything and I told her I don't want to be put in that situation again so I don't know if we should talk or not and that was a bad move because then she decided that no one will ever like her for how she is. Anyway, she said she'd try and be happy for me and we've been talking normally again for a couple of days. My problem is, I really don't want to be in that situation again but I do love talking to her - I'm at a loss for what to do if someone could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated!!!

From what I'm reading I can relate to something I have done before.

Faking happiness. Instead of telling her you don't wanna be treated (yes it's spelled wrong Idc) like that maybe you should try to unerstand her. She said she was trying to be happy for you, not sure if that's good.

Not showing sadness, anger, etc. can make things worse.

My advice? Stay with her and if she's in a bad mood then don't tell her you don't like it. You never know why it may have happened and maybe she couldn't help it.

What should I say/do to help?

Be there for her. Don't go asking why acts like that, she may not wanna talk about it. Also, you can use the quote button below so I get a notification if you reply.
