Hey Guys! I was just wanting to get an idea of the most common Operating Systems. If you decided to post, please tell the OS and why you like it.
Personally, I use to always use Windows. I liked it a lot but when Windows 8 rolled up, I drifted away. I'm not the biggest fan of the new interface and think that Microsoft is trying a little to hard. I now am a Linux user and run Ubuntu 14.04.01, (codename: "Trusty Tahr"). I am now a huge fan of Linux and think it is the best OS there is. It is a lot more open and give you a lot more control of the machine.

I have a dual boot Win 8.1 + openSUSE 13.2 o'er here. I wouldn't consider myself much as a linux user, though.

Linux! It just suits me and my technical minded-ness.

I have Windows because the majority of programs for download are for windows so you kind of get the most supported though its vulnerable to viruses so you need a good av. I have Bitdefender. I also have an ubuntu (32 bit) virtual box, just because.

I like OS X since it has a really good search feature and I tend to throw files everywhere. Windows search just isnt as good.

I just fully transitioned from Mac hardware to generic PC hardware. I now run Windows 8.1 on my desktop and my new laptop.
I have nothing against OS X, other than it's just getting a bit long in the tooth. I would've bought another MacBook if I had that kind of money.

I've always used Mac OSX, so I'm really used to it. I've also noticed that it tends to run things a smoother than windows. I'm not really sure about Linux, though.

Dual boot between Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) and CentOS (for networking and render-farming). I have 3 other machines too, 2 on Win7 Ult 64 again and one only on CentOS, which I usually use as a test bed.

I've used Macs my entire life but I really liked Mavericks and now Yosemite even though my computer is a bit too old to run it properly. For Linux I've used Ubuntu which wasn't bad and I'll probably be getting a PC soon running Windows 8... or 8.1, I don't know yet.

I've used Windows and Linux, and so far, I can't honestly say which is "better." Windows is compatible with nearly everything, it runs smoothishly (depends on the rig) and it really user-friendly. Linux, or rather Ubuntu, is much more technical, it is compatible with 99% of every software out there, with only 1 thing needing to be installed. It runs really smooth, even on lower-end computers, but the interface can be a bit daunting at first.

I have 3 windows 8 and 5 windows 7 computers so I obviously like windows. But 8 tried too hard to be a phone or tablet so windows 7 is the best for me
