so about 24 hrs ago, i got a splinter in my right foot. its in a position where it doesnt sting when i walk, but it definitely huts when you put pressure on it. i tried to remove it with tweezers, but i dont see any part sticking out :what:

i have a huge fear of needles so im not letting anyone prick my skin unless absolutely neccesary. that being said, is it all possible that it will come out or disintegrate naturally? or at least should i wait a few days for it to slide out a little to the point where i can remove it with tweezers?

Owch man. The main concern is that its on your foot and thats a tough spot to keep clean obviously.

I get that your not a fan of needles, is that all needles even if you do it or someone else has the needle?

Its not likely to come out on its own if you are not able to grab a piece of it with a tweezers.

The most concerning thing would be infection so keep an eye out for warm skin around that area. Red nasty looking skin color. or worse of all puss coming from the area.

I had some rust in my foot years ago and it took 8 people to hold me down in the ER so they could dig it out I feel your pain.

^ that, plus try to have someone help you. I hope it does not have to come to you going to the ER

Use vinegar! It will bring the splinter to the surface, and it's good for your feet!
Soak your foot (or feet, if you wish) in white vinegar (Or another type, if you can find the guide for a vinegar soak for it) for at least half an hour or until you can remove it by hand or by tweezers.

I did this last time I got a bad splinter in my foot, I hope this helps :)

My dad ended up using a needle to poke a hole in the skin to try to pluck it out. I hated every second of it, but I guess I'm a bit more relieved that it at least has the potential to come out on it's own now. I'll just keep my eye on it, I guess.

Tweezers aren't the best way to remove a splinter. Try taking two credit cards (or something of the like; membership cards, etc), press on either side of the splinter and drag the cards in opposite directions away from the splinter. I wouldn't let it go for too long because then it may have the potential to get infected. If that doesn't work, try soaking it in hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes and try again with the cards.

Oh that's never good. As far as I know, you can't get those out with any conventional methods, so I have two suggestions:

1) Leave it. Sometimes the body will build a protective area of skin around the splinter so as not to cause more harm. Still taking a chance though.

2) Go get it removed by a doctor. Sorry...
