View Full Version : Coming out
Meh Guy

I guess this might be an exhausted topic but I figured I'd see where everyone is with their sexuality. As for me I'm bisexual, out to everyone except my family. The reason being, my mother probably wouldn't mind, but my dad would. I don't think he'd be openly hostile about it but he would have a problem with it. How about you guys?

My friends know, I'm open about it to anyone except for my family.

Definitely more comfortable around my friends, considering a good number LGBT and out anyway. My family... not so much...

I'm out to all my friends, and I expect my family to have figured it out by now...

I am out to everyone. I mean, I don't parade it, but it is not something I keep secret either, though I am bisexual so some don't bother asking or may not know

This might sound silly, but I kinda want them to just know without me telling them. Technically I'm not out, but I don't see myself being closeted forever. I don't know yet, I'm still having faith in myself.

But I'm out to some friends

There are certain people I've told, and certain people I'm deliberately keeping it from.

I've pretty much told everyone - friends, immediate family, peers at school (via FB), hell even some of my teachers at my high school know lol. The only people who I haven't told are:
My little sister (12 years old) - I honestly don't know why, I just don't want to be an influence on her I guess?
My dad's parents - never really felt the need to. they live 500 miles away so I only see them once or twice a year, and plus I don't know how they would react. probably would accept me, but I don't feel the need to unless I move in with them during college and get serious with a guy.
My mom's mom - I haven't seen her in 10 years and I'm pretty sure it'd make her uncomfortable.
My mom's extended family (aunt, cousins, etc) - I haven't seen them, let alone heard from them since like 2006. Plus they live in rural North Carolina so I don't even know how they would react if I somehow ran into them again.

i came out to my parents when i was 10, so they have had plenty of time to get used to the idea. they both took it very well and was pretty accepting with it, though sometimes my dad has a hard time dealing with it. and all of my friends know and they are pretty cool with it, i may have lost a few, but i made many more.

Anyone who wants to know, knows. I tell people if it's relevant to the conversation or if they're my friends. Some of my family doesn't know, and I don't really want them to. It's not a secret, but I don't tell everybody either.

Everyone knows. When I meet new people, I'll tell them if they ask or whatever but it's kinda obvious anyway :p

Nobody knows. But I am coming to terms with being gay, slowly but surely. If a non-Romanian would ask me if I am gay,I would not deny it. At least,I 'comfort' myself,by thinking that LGBT people are treated better here than in Russia.

My family will probably never know because they just assume I'm like into girls. My friends, I will tell them if they ask.

Most of my friends know I'm bi but the ones that don't probably would never guess. Everyone I told was fairly surprised but don't care. I wish more people knew I just hate having it come up in conversation or other times acting like I'm straight when people who don't know are around. I should stop that last part and let people find out actually...
