what *is* the difference between that and firefox, they both have a similar GUI and they both have tabbed browsing, and after downloading it and having a little play around, it behaves exactly the same as well. The only difference I found was that Minefield is not a RAM whore like Firefox.

I don't see much of a difference between that and Firefox. A different looking UI is all really.
Could you pick a more worse name for a web browser? Minefield makes me think of like landmines lol

I've had it for a few days now and it actually is firefox its just a trunk build which means its just and the reason they call it minefield is because they don't know if its unstable or not so your walking through a minefield testing it out.

It's the pre-alpha version of Firefox 4.0.
Minefield is a codename for it, like Longhorn was for Vista, and Whistler was for XP.
The Pre-Alpha version of Firefox 4 he has is built off the Firefox 3.0 builds that are still in testing. And, Firefox 3 is better on Memory Management than 2.0.0.x
It's also using the same theme as 3.0.
There's not going to be a lot of differences between Firefox 3 and the Pre-Alpha version of Firefox 4 yet. It's much too early. It's just another test build. Not something most normal users would have any use for.
