I would disagree about the Last of Us. I would say Mother 3, but one thing happened in it that ruined the whole game. :/ (P.S. I'm not gonna tell you because of spoilers.) But you probably won't care.

I really like the story the Halo series has to offer. I mean I grew up with it so I've always kind of been attached to the story line of Chief and Cortana especially in Halo 4.

Unfortunately I managed to play through the storylines of only 1-2 so I can't relate but I've heard the story is awesome in the later games, need to get an xbone haha
