Uploading Pictures

Hello MODS.

Sorry if this is somewhere else. I found a post already but it was kind of outdate.
I tried uploadind pictures to my profile or as a avatar but couldn't so ended up uploading it somewhere else. (I did resize them and all)

But now i'm trying to upload pictures to my album (resized) and it's not working either.

Is the uploading part still not working?

I'll be looking into this issue over the next few days. This is only with large images, correct? Since we've moved servers its likely that some settings were not transferred, so those will need to be found and changed manually.

This used to be an issue a few weeks ago until it got fixed. What originally happened was it was supposed to resize your images automatically but it wouldn't, which meant we had to manually resize the images ourselves. Like Steven(StoppingTime) said, its very possible that because we changed servers the issues regarding the image uploading may have come back. I haven't had an issue so far with it. Could you possibly post some screenshots of what it looks like when you try to upload?

I don't have any issues uploading images at all. All that happens is when I go through the final process of uploading, it comes up with a message saying "upload of file failed" but it still uploaded anyways. So, just thought I should let you know

Both these issues should now be resolved. :)

To Note: Images can never exceed 15 MB in upload size. This is done as a security measure and therefore the limit will not be changing.

The limit you see when you upload pictures (I think it's something like 2MB) isn't exactly a limit; rather, it's the size the site will change your image to if it's larger. This means you can upload any image so long as it doesn't exceed 15MB, and the site will resize it for you. In other cases, you'll need to do some initial resizing first, and then you'll be able to upload it here. But unless you're uploading very high-quality images, this probably won't affect you.

Ohh i see. In the upload area states something about the size:
Pictures Remaining 25
Space Remaining 20.00 MB
Maximum File Size per Picture 4.77 MB
Maximum Picture Dimensions 1,024 by 768 Pixels
So with this, i understand, that a picture's size could be up to almost 5mb
So the real number is 2mb or less... mmm Let me see if it works now

Well I change the image's size from 1.5mb to 90kb in PNG or JPG but either one worked.

So the main question according to one of the answers (besides manually resizing it) you guys are still working on this?

I think you misread. The upload limit on the site is 15MB, so you could upload a picture of that size. The limits listed there are the maximum size/dimension that VT will your photo in terms of quality/resolution.

I do understand Steven. But I don't understand if there's a problem to upload a picture (even if I already resize it) or I'm doing something wrong.

You shouldn't have any problem uploading pictures now. Have you tried again since last night?

Wasss up! :D I use to have problems with pictures sizes and stuff :confused: then I was like "I am your master!" and everything went my way:D

no, but let me help you out lol.
if you want to resize an image:
1. find the image you want to resize
2. side click it
3. open with paint
4. on the left you will see where it says rezize

Yes thank you, Paint is my Photoshop version, I use it alot, I have photoshop as well, but the problem is another one, I did upload a pidgeon but I had to do it with my cellphone, so the problem it's the internet connection i'm in :lol:

Besides, you changed from PrivateSystems Networks on what, 13th of March 2014? You had a lot of time to fix everything. :P
I cant see if you made any upgrades or tinkering since I would have to commit a felony by entering your server, but from what I see, there arent much change.

Actually we have changed servers a little bit less than a month ago?
And if I remember correctly, an administrator, ImCoolBeans, had stated he had forgotten to put the code in? Or something like that. Anyways the VT staff is or has been aware of this issue. And idk where you came up with the fact we changed servers almost a year ago. So what point are you tryna make?

Cloudflare isn't a server, it's a reverse proxy/CDN that routes traffic from our server through it's network to better deliver content. Those two things aren't the same thing.

No, we changed servers within the past month, actually. You're correct in that we had extended downtime around that time in March, but that is entirely unrelated to this thread.

1. We changed servers under a month ago.
2. This issue is resolved. Unless you're uploading 20MB photos or something absurd, there's absolutely no reason as to why you should be having any problems.
