I know when it comes to squatting for 20 reps with heavy weight we can suffer from having a hard time getting motivated.
I took a lesson from an old timer well 3 old timers, and absorbed their ideas on squatting for 20 reps:

Monday ( Peary Rader style squats)
On this day I use the rep scheme from Peary Raders books The Rader Master Bodybuilding and Weight gaining system.
I do my first 5 reps the normal way with 1 breathe between each rep and increase number of breathes with each rep up to rep 20,By them I'm taking about 6 deep breathes between reps

Wendesday (Arthur Jones style squats)

On this day I do like Arthur Jones had said just squat for your reps one after the other and let the breathing take care of itself.

Friday (Joseph Curtis Hise style squats)

Now on this day I do the first 10 reps the normal way with 1 breather between each rep,and after that I increase the number of breathes between reps up to 6 or more until I reach rep 20.

I have found this is a good way to keep motivation high as I am not doing the reps in the same fashion every workout which I will admit gets kinda old.

And someone once told me guys way back then didn't know anything

Thanks for sharing! I am not really into fitness that much, but I am sure the people here that are interested will find this helpful and may try it out as well.

id say, don't do squats. They are good, but if you're not doing them completely flawlessly (and if you didn't ended your puberty already) they can cause severe (and i do mean SEVER) back injuries. There's plenty of great exercises as efficient to do.

There is no exercise that can replace the barbell squat for building muscle and strength . And having ended your puberty already has nothing to do with causing lower back problems trying to workout withlots of weight while suing poor form causes that,or having poor back structure for squats can do that.

How the hell you have 3 squatting session in one week?

I do one 10x3 back squats ass to grass with light weight and I am done for the month.

There is an awful lot of exercises that can do that. But whatever, you're not gonna listen to me, so enjoy your sciatica at 22 my friend.

I do even less than that, not sure if that's good or bad...
