So I have never done anything to the hair there. But around a week ago, I trimmed it a bit so it doesn't get stuck inside my foreskin on the glans. But now I have discovered you can shave it off. I talked to my parents but they advised me against doing so, saying it will grow back thicker and it will itch a lot, I can also cut myself and I will get a rash etc....
Also, they will become rough like beard hair.
So.. is this true?
I am really fascinated by the idea of shaving it off so I would like to know.
Thanks!

Hey Samir. Well, I'm sure I would never talk to my parents about this, but if you're that open with them then great (I wish I could be). I have experimented with pubic hairs a lot, and no it's not true that they become thicker, but it will itch a little bit. Currently I'm natural, but I was trimming and sometimes totally shaved them off. I like natural most, but it's cool to be shaved too - then they grow back in a month. So I advise you to shave them off once and then you will see. If you like shaved - contunie shaving, if you won't you will have them back in a month. Kind regards

First off, the whole "shaving makes it come back quicker and thicker" isn't true. At all. So no worry there. But yes you will become irritated down there because its a sensitive area, leading to itching. It won't be too bad and you should get use to it. You may cut yourself, although its no worse then regular shaving. As for the rash, it's possible, but it wears off about 3 days after I find.

I have shaved mine once and no it didnt grow back thicker, it did itch for about 2-3 days, then it stoped, other than that i agree also you should try and see.

I'd say shaving is worth it, it looks better, it's smoother and you don't get pubes everywhere, I shave once a week and the amount growing back doesn't change. I'd say if you want to try shaving go for it, you only know what you will like if you try it, at first I hated shaving but not I can't not shave, give it a go and see if you like it.

I have trimmed and shaved and it doesnt come back any thicker than it was the first time. As for the rash, the best thing to do is to always shave in a downward motion and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize this will reduce chances of rash and irritation. Trimming and shaving is all a matter of preference, so ultimately the decision is yours to make.
