so i was playing my cello, and right after i put it down, my left ear starts to feel kind of stuffy and sound kind of distorts like playing on crappy speakers. That was like 10 minutes ago and now it feels like there's hot liquid that would drip out of my ear, but there's nothing. I hear a whooshy noise in that ear.
I quickly googled it, but it only came up with things like sudden deafness, and sudden tinnitus.
This is scaring me hysterically.
I dont know what to do :(
i cant lose my hearing. music is the only thing keeping me sane.
help me please :(

Is there any pain coming from your ear?

I'm not completely sure. But by what you are describing, you might just have a ruptured ear drum.

really?
doesn't that require like a big bang or something? or sticking a nail in your ear?

It can be caused by other things such as an middle ear infection.

it seems to have died down, thankfully. I was scared out of my mind. :) I think it'll be better by morning

Yeah, I think you might be fine now. It happens sometimes when you play music. I play flute, so if I actually practice (which doesn't happen) for a long time, then you sometimes getting a ringing in your ear.

If your problems still persist after a day though, I highly recommend visiting a doctor.

Yeah thanks. The symptoms seem to have subsided.
Everything in the ear sounds just a little bit different though, but maybe that's just because it's clearer or something. It's hardly noticeable, and won't affect my listening.

Ah yeah? That's good. Whenever you play Cello and you notice it happening again, take a small break, grab some water or something, and come back in 5 minutes. It's like when you read and your head starts to hurt.

Hopefully it won't happen again.
I think this happened to me a few years ago too. I was just sitting in class and suddenly couldn't hear out of my left ear. Same ear as yesterday... :/

So another ear thing.

This time I was stupid.
I listened to a really beautiful song a little louder than I should have and now I have a constant 7000hz or so ring in my left ear.

This scares me to death :(

I feel hopeless. It's torture that never ends.
I just want to be able to sit in my room and hear nothing. No humming or tones. And fall asleep in peace.

I can't deal with this. I'm crying my eyes out

If it's getting to the point it hurts, go and see a doctor. Like, I'm not even kidding. Depending on how long this ringing has been going on, the longer you hold it off, the more you should go see one.
