is Pokémon relevant anymore

Yeah I don't go past the first two hundred pokemon and all the new pokemon games I just use cheats and hacks to get the old classic pokemon in them. lol

I don't watch much of the new series, but from what I've seen of XY it's at least better than Black and White. I hated that. So much.

I like the older stuff, but i stopped watching and playing the games after the second generation (those games were fun though, I miss them)

Welp, it's still relevant to its target audience. I never watched anything beyond Master Trainer (Gen 2) to be honest. Watching the other generations felt like they took a big step back from the maturing process Ash was going through the first two generations.

Interestingly enough, Pokémon is still so relevant that the newest movies, not even shown on theatres in the western world, still rank very highly (among children's cinema) when shown in Japan.

I'm 19 so... it'll never be irrelevant. I still have VHS tapes from the first season at my parents' house.

There are tons of people who watch and love anime. I am not a huge fan of it, but I do like Pokemon :D I think anime is actually becoming more popular in this generation :)

I know lots of people who play the games (myself included), but no one here really watches the anime (except maybe little kids).

I stopped watching the anime during Unova because I felt that Ash was getting stupider and stupider, plus I hated the Unova episodes. I hate that they reset Ash after every region, and he always has at least one unlikable traveling partner (originally it was Misty, then it was Max, then Dawn, then Iris AND Cilan, and now Serena). I found Iris and Cilan completely unbearable. Cilan's bad enough in the French dub, but he's actually worse in the English dub - I couldn't get through an English episode with him because I found his personality really grating. As for Iris...do you think Anime!Iris could become the Champion like Game!Iris did? Fat chance. (Needless to say, the Skyla episode was the last straw since they got her personality completely wrong.) Serena's just as bad because she basically only exists to fawn over Ash. Then again, the anime is known for screwing game characters over.

Still, I prefer Pokemon to all that disgusting fanservice-ridden shit that have been popular with anime studios lately.
