What is the difference between the diaries and social groups? Are both of them requested and created for you through the admins? And is there any distinct difference? Can you post in social groups, I know you can in diaries.

Diaries are requested to be made. Social groups are not. The only way that social groups can really be requested for, is if you don't have the requirements to create one, and someone makes it for you, and switches the ownership to your name. If I remember the requirements for a social group is 500posts, and 3 months being a member. And a little bit different for the diaries. And you can post in social groups, but the diaries are more efficient and fun.

Ah I see, so social groups are more like fan pages like on Facebook then, and diaries are more like separated groups of friends having their own forum.

Basically. Diaries are more member-controlled forums. Diaries are more of an extra curricular activity for members and you do almost anything you want, within the rules of VT.

Not all social groups are fan pages. They can be used to let others know more about the members. There's going commando club, for those who go commando. Meat Lovers(I believe) for those who like meat. And specific country groups for those who are in California, UK, ECT.

the main difference is that diaries get all the posts. so if you want traffic you get a diary.

You can make a social group after you have 500 posts and I think after you've been here 3 months. Admin has to make the diary. I don't remember the requirements for a Diary but, you have to make a diary request to be put on the waiting list.

This is true. I believe diary requirements is, maybe, 150(or 300 posts) and 3 months being a member. If you do not have the requirements for a social group you can request for someone to make one for you and make it yours by changing the name of ownership.... Or if you're lucky like me the system will glitch, and I made my social group at 250 posts. :D

To get a diary you need 100 posts and 2 months of membership. The diary rules are all here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=135167).
