**This thread by no means condones or encourages the act of sexting, or similar behavior, especially that between an adult and a minor.

Alright, now that that's out of the way, lets continue. I thought I'd just get everyone's opinion on this. It's a pretty touchy subject, but an important one. I kinda want to stay away from the CP side of things, as that is truly disgusting. But do you think sexting is okay? If not, why? Or maybe you're in the middle like me, where I find that it can be okay in certain situations, but does have the potential to become something very bad. Do you think it should be illegal? And have you ever done it?

It is and should be totally fine.

If you don't know the person, or you're a minor, it's really pretty dangerous and not ok.

I guess if you know the person and would have no issue being sexual Irl, it's fine. Like some people just can't be physically with each other all the time due to distance etc.

But if you're messing around with strangers that's not safe at all, and i don't think it's appropriate.

I can see how it could potentially be fun, but you have to be really careful about who you're doing it with.

my ex real life gf and I did it when she moved away for university. I would only ever do it with someone I'm in a real life relationship. Otherwise I'm not a fan of it really, especially if it's just someone you know online.

This is something I would never do. Even if I trusted the other person with my life, they could still out of revenge or if they had a bad day whatever decide to do something evil and wrong and the whole thing is messed up. This is how online bullying gets its roots and how people are forced to drop out of school and be isolated. It all started with just one nasty text message. That's why I'm a big advocate against sexting and things of that sort.

if you are doing it with someone you know an and trust, I dont see a problem with; but I wouldnt do it with just like random people you meet. Just be careful and think twice before doing anything you might regret.

This! I'm not into it either. Only with my gf because I can trust her. As long as the person can be trusted, and they're alone at the time, then it's ok. But it's really not a good practice for anybody

Then again, if you know the person IRL (please, don't send nudes to a stranger online, esp with your face, even if you've known them for "a while") and you're old enough to know the consequences (leaking it to a porn site may be a one in a million kind of thing, for you. But if that persons shows the picture to a friend, or someone borrows/steals their phone, I mean, would you be okay with his/hers friends seeing you naked? Your school? Scandal and the news reaching your parents? Yeah), well, go for it.

I have a friend who does it with her long distance bf, and it works for them. It's about being safe.

I have sexted a lot of times, but never exchanged pics for the same reason.

I find sexting is fun. Knowing that a girl somewhere on the other side is as aroused as I and also masturbating in that moment, stimulates me and makes me very horny. It is of course not as good as real sex - but it is better and more satisfying than masturbating alone by myself.

But again, if you do planning on doing so, you better cover your face, and why not, put some blankets on the wall or something to avoid room recognition.

I think sexting is very dangerous. You should have complete trust in the person you're sexting with, and even then I wouldn't do it. There's just too many risks.

What do you mean "minor or not", I mean, I understand that I it's not a good idea for a minor to do that, but if a grownup girl does it, 19, 20 or something, years old, how could it be trouble?

Just like anything else sexual I feel like if its consensual then its fine. Don't think there's anything morally wrong or something. Just obviously need to be careful that nude photos of you aren't getting sent around to others that you didn't intend.

In my opinion, As long as all parties that are involved give consent and no one plans to share the photos/use them as blackmail later down the road, yes it is okay! As for age.... that is tricky...... If a 17 y/o send a pic to a 16/17/18 y/o, then that is okay. But if a 17 y/o send a pic to lets say a 14 y/o, then that is not okay!

But overall, in my opinion, it is okay......

I do it sometimes and I think it's ok if it's someone you know and trust, I do it on snapchat. But I disagree with doing it with a stranger, I think these online chats are wrong, my mate went on one once and now his dick is on Google images!
