I have missed the past month due to anxiety (more here) (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2999956#post2999956)

How do I tell my friends I may not be going back to school?

just be honest, but you don't have to share anything you don't want to .say something like:
"hey. life has been very hard for me lately. I have some physiological issues going on (it covers physical and mental) and at the current time, it has been decided being in school is not the best for me. I hope to still hang out sometimes, I still want to be friends, but I may need to leave and do school from home for awhile."

if they are your friends they will understand

Just be honest and tell them

honesty is the best policy in friendship -- though they might be sad and hurt, I think they will appreciate you more for being up front with them and not beating around the bush or just not telling them at all.

Like everyone else said it will be best if you be honest with your friends. I'm sure they would appreciate you telling them the truth rather than any excuse you come up with.

My friend had a similar problem. She simply told her friends the whole situation. If they're ur friends they'll be supportive.

Try to be honest, I understand this may be a touchy subject so don't feel pressured to say more than you are comfortable with. If they're your true friends, they should understand that you aren't in the best spot, and will respect that.
