What gender is the majority of your friends?

When you reflect on your friends, do you notice that most of them are one gender, or is it pretty well mixed?

As sad as it sounds for me, pretty much all of my good friends (outside of the 'online' realm) are female. I used to have some good guy friends, but we've drifted a bit and we never hang out anymore.

Now that you mention it, it's kinda mixed as I'm trying to become more of an extroverted person so I open myself up to different levels of friends.

I mean when I'm with other guys who are straight and don't know I'm gay, I meet from my cousins or at school, we just usually go to a concert or a sports game. It's kinda impromptu like that, just hang at the skatepark after school and we barely know each others names.

I'm more close with my female or gay friends though. We usually go to the movies, spend some time at the mall. Maybe it's because they want our fashion advice or feel more comfortable with us. They don't want guys hitting on them so they get gay guys to be with them. I don't know.

Very nice that you have brought this up because I haven't really noticed it really. Based on genders of friends and how it reflects you as a person and what gender you are more comfortable being close with as far as friendships go.

About five years ago, the ratio used to be 70% female friends and 30% male.
Whereas now it is more like 80-90% males and 10-20% females. I prefer male company now. Although unfortunately almost all my guy friends are straight :P

At school it is pretty much 100% guys. I was closer friends with 2 girls last year but this semester we have had conflicting schedules and have no really been able to remain that close :/ the reason why its so high though is because I am on sports teams at school so all of my friends are from the team or their roommates and what not.

At home there is 1 girl that always hangs out with my group of about 7-10 guy friends and 2-3 more that will be around sometimes. Pretty much the same deal, sports teams are the reason I have almost all of my friends.

When I was in primary school I was friends with guys, mostly. As I grew up, I started to have less guy friends and more girl friends, to the point where I would just have female friends. Right now, I have some guy friends I like a lot, but the majority are still female.

Currently, I have far more male friends than female friends, at least from college. We're a pretty tight knit group. I've got 15 male friends, and 3 female friends from college. Prolly more when I move into on campus residence next month.
