unfortunately cold turkey is the only way.
I would suggest drinking lots of water and taking vitamins if you don't already.

Phuckphace is correct, the only way to do it is to quit cold turkey, really. Weening yourself off won't work, you'll still have access to it and will prolong the process/stop trying to quit.

When I smoke it heavily(when the finances are good), I get dependent but after a few days of not having it there I don't really care. Just leave it a few more days and do stuff to take your mind off it and it will be OK.

I agree with phuckphace.
Weed shouldn't be terribly hard to quit. It's not really all that addictive, but it still sucks to have to quit. While weed isn't addictive, it does help me with my horrible sleeping issues and anxiety, so I can understand why it would be hard, even if it's not physically addictive.
Best of luck to you.

take up something to fill the void, like drawing or dxm

Well other than just stopping, try to go off slowly, I mean, as with any drug. Other than that I don't know you gotta find what works for you.
