Did anyone here see THG: Mockingjay - Part 1? If so, what were your thoughts on it?

I've heard from many that there "wasn't enough action" which made it "boring" for them. Personally, it didn't come off as boring to me. I was entertained the entire time with strong visuals and acting. I can see how there wasn't much action in comparison to the original and Catching Fire, but it was still a pretty great build-up of what should be an explosive Part 2 finale to the series. As always, I thought Jennifer Lawrence was charming. And it was nice that Liam Hemsworth had more screen time in this movie, since he was in very little of THG and CF.

A year until Part 2, though. x_x I'm undecided still if the split was a good idea. It is down over 20% from its predecessor at the box office (even though it's still HUGELY successful), and Twilight and Harry Potter saw similar declines as well for their two-part finales. It makes me wonder if people aren't as fond of this strategy. Part 2 historically surged for these comparable movies, though, so I expect a huge rise for Mockingjay - Part 2.

Anyway. Your thoughts?

I still need to go see it but it can depend on the film. usually part 2 is where there is more action (not always) and therefore people are sometimes annoyed they have to wait so long to see the really good stuff they want to see

Agreed with Seth. Part 2 is meant be the big thing out of the 2 so I guess there's nothing we can do but wait.

I should be going to see it some time this weekend :d

I thought it was pretty good and Katniss was portrayed exactly the way I thought she would be from reading the books. What I didn't like was the fact that they extended to many scenes that were short and insignificant in the books and missed out/minimised character roles that impacted the storyline a lot in the book (Boggs and Finnick being 2 main ones I picked out). I loved Boggs' character in the books so it's kind of annoying they made it such a small part in the first film -.- Also I think they could have done it in 1 film, they didn't really need the extention into 2. Maybe the film could have been annoying and 3 hours or something but yeah, definitely didn't see the need to split this one.

Haha just realised I've moaned for a paragraph but when you've read the book the film never does quite live up to it. I did actually like the film though! Looking forward to Part 2 but isn't it meant to come out in 2016? -.- I'll have to rewatch all the others to remind myself how they go xD

I thought it was good. It was better and more intense than I expected
