Did anyone here see THG: Mockingjay - Part 1? If so, what were your thoughts on it?
I've heard from many that there "wasn't enough action" which made it "boring" for them. Personally, it didn't come off as boring to me. I was entertained the entire time with strong visuals and acting. I can see how there wasn't much action in comparison to the original and Catching Fire, but it was still a pretty great build-up of what should be an explosive Part 2 finale to the series. As always, I thought Jennifer Lawrence was charming. And it was nice that Liam Hemsworth had more screen time in this movie, since he was in very little of THG and CF.
A year until Part 2, though. x_x I'm undecided still if the split was a good idea. It is down over 20% from its predecessor at the box office (even though it's still HUGELY successful), and Twilight and Harry Potter saw similar declines as well for their two-part finales. It makes me wonder if people aren't as fond of this strategy. Part 2 historically surged for these comparable movies, though, so I expect a huge rise for Mockingjay - Part 2.
Anyway. Your thoughts?
