I have been dating my girlfriend who i meet online for over 10 months and we both love each other and plan on visiting next year when i turn 18. Will it be considered rape if we tried anything sexual? Note: no I am not taking advantage of her or want to see her just because of sex. I just want to know what if both people agreed to it and, would it be considered rape if a 18 year and a 15 had sex?
Thank you for your answer :D

Well I believe it would be considered statutory rape. Because the age of consent is 16 for most states. So if she was 16, then it'd be legal, because the law allows it. However, if she was 16, and you DID NOT live in the same state as her, then it would be illegal. But if you lived in the same state, and wet both above 16, then you're fine.

It depends on the state. If you know her state, google "sexual age of consent in" and then her state name. It will tell you very specifically who can have sex at what age and who can't. Since it varies from place to place I really can't give you an accurate answer. But in reality, if no one finds out, then you will be fine. If she ends up telling though, then you could be in trouble, if the person she tells decides to press charges. This requires trust, on both sides of the relationship, you and her. One thing I did find when I did some research though, is that depending on how many years you are apart, will depend on how severe it really is. And realistically speaking, no one is going to make a big deal about it, unless her parents are super strict and really hate you and want you in jail. If both of you have trust in each other, if her parents like you, or you can hide it, then you'll be fine.
Use protection!

What are the age of consent laws on the state you are going to be visiting her in?
If she is younger than the age of consent for that state, yes that would be considered statutory rape if she decides to press charges if you have sexual relations with her.
I would just play it safe and wait until she is age of consent if you are still unsure and uncomfortable about it. Stay safe.

Age of consent there is 18.
"13-1405. Sexual conduct with a minor; classifications
A. A person commits sexual conduct with a minor by intentionally or knowingly engaging in sexual intercourse or oral sexual contact with any person who is under eighteen years of age."
So that's what you need to be aware of, and think about when you decide to make your choice. My opinion still stands though as I stated in my previous post.

even if she is of the age of consent, but under the age of 18 and you are 18 and have sex with her consent, if the parents dont agree with your relationship you could still be charged with statutory rape under the law regardless of the states you are both from. its a loophole in the laws most states have. so be careful.
