Who is your favourite player?
For me at the moment, it is a guy named Lewis MacLeod. He plays for the team I support, he's 20 years old with great potential & is a regular starter for us.

Ever since Muller dived in the world cup game against Portugal I can't stand him.

This isn't really my sport of choice but my town's only claim to fame is that Tim Howard grew up here. Tons of people with stories about him and the world cup viewing parties here were crazy, there were actually news vans at our high school because of it. There were literally robocalls about the one big one through the town. So I can't get all technical about any of what he actually can do other than save the world basically, but he's a decent human being and hits pretty close to home.

He is a good goalkeeper and plys his trade in England so I get to see him a lot on the TV, I like him and thought he had a great world cup.

There are so many, but at the moment it's a three-way tie between RvP, Wayne Rooney, and Ángel Di María. Manchester United for life!!

Di Maria is class, I wish he never moved to Man U though.

I don't really follow football, just play it, so to annoy my friends I just rave about the MLS because they all think its shit, aha. So it has to be the combo of Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey!

They are an american football team, I am talking about REAL football

Scandalous that Chelsea never offered him a new contract, he can still play at the highest level and had a good game for Man city last night.

I'm a big fan of Marco Reus and Borussia Dortmund. Either him or Diego Costa at Chelsea.

Leighton Baines is the reason I love football. The first match I made an effort to watch in my life was the beginning of last year Everton-Norwich and he attracted my attention the entire game. Watching a defender go forward like he does is the most beautiful thing there is in football. I fell in love with Everton after he scored 2 absolute crackers at West Ham last September off free kicks before Big Rom bagged the winner.
After him though, Steven Naismith is a close 2nd. Hard worker, amazing finisher and his work in the community is 2nd to very few. Amazing individual.

Baines is without doubt a great player. It's good to see he's finally gotten to a stage where he's able to cement his place at international level too. We've been needing an attacking left back like him for a while!

Indeed, I watch England play a fair amount mainly because I find it humorous to see how often they under-perform (sorry lol), Baines and Sterling together at their best are quite the combination yet it seems Hodgson enjoys playing people out of position in the midfield which really hurts their effectiveness.

I'm never sure why but we always under perform as a nation, I can't put my finger on why. Players like Gazza, Lineker, Beckham, Owen, Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney in recent years and we're useless.
I'd be excited if I were a USA supporter right now. They don't have any real world class players but they play well as a team and fight for eachother. If England could put in even half as much effort as the USA do I think we'd win the World Cup.

Yes football is really coming along over here. Hopefully MLS can capitalize on it (the way its set up now it doesn't look like they will take full advantage of our "World Cup fever") and make it move up in the world to become a real top league. If that happens the game will grow at the youth level too hopefully

Like Belgium I think the US are the next upcoming thing. The MLS is becoming more global now and better players are coming over to play in the league.
Like Thierry Henry, Bradley Wright-Phillips and soon Frank Lampard and David Villa.
With players like these young Americans will take an interest and as you say the youth system can only benefit from that.

Sorry but he was an asshole against us, the mighty Sunderland. He waited for the ball to go to his area so he could pick it up, but then it wasn't fast enough, so he lay down on the ball, Nd got away with it. It was confusing and not allowed but anyway...
My favourite is Sergio aguero, not for the glory but because of how hard he worked. He played football as much as possible and debuted in argetina aged 15
