So I'm doing my A-Levels right now and I'm so unmotivated. I'm barely doing my homework and I feel like if I continue this way I won't do as good as I hope to do :( When I tell people they're usually just like 'just do your work' but that doesn't help at all, despite knowing that this could affect my future I'm sitting here not doing the homework in for tomorrow despite it being 11pm
Is there anything I can do or am I destined to live this way for eternity?

Bro, I totally understand how you feel.
I was in a similar slump. What helped me get through it was telling myself that it really isn't impossible and that it was necessary to finish the work if I ever wanted to graduate and be able to hold a successful job.
That probably didn't even make sense because I'm terrible at communicating.
I'm always up for a PM if you want to talk.

How are we gonna be oil barons if you don't get your degree???
Jokes aside, I've experienced slumps like this myself. I usually think about what happens if I don't get my degree and finish my studies (poverty), although extreme, it is true for me. You always know I'm a fb message away, so if you feel like this constantly, just know that you always have me to talk to.

Realise that if you get it all done, it'll all be over in less than 2 years when you finish your A-Levels. It's temporary :)

You just need to find something go give you motivation I was the same way last year. This year I keep telling myself if I don't do my work I won't be able to move where I want or get into my dream career. Just find something that's important to you and use that to motivate you.

I know this is a bit late, especially because at least for me this is the weekend just after finals. I'm writing this while procrastinating the work my instructor has so kindly allowed me to finish late so I can pass the class. I don't fully practice what I preach, but through trial and error and research, I can share some tips and strategies.
Beforehand Planning
-Reward/consequence strategy. So here's the deal: the "I'll be on minimum wage, working at McDonalds" shit works for some, but not everyone. This is so far into the future that it really doesn't sink in. I need my consequences to slap me in the face. Set goals for tasks from thirty minutes of work today, to good grades at the end of term, and decide on rewards or consequences that work for you. Write all this down, sign it if that helps, and put it somewhere you'll see it.
-Daily reminders. Make up a list of the reasons you want to succeed, and the consequences of failing. So for me, making my parents proud vs. disappointing them. This list goes next to your reward/consequence list, somewhere you will see it every day and preferably multiple times a day. At your desk, on your mirror, etc. Review it every morning.
-Come up with a schedule. Something disorganized people like me hate, but also that I desperately need. You don't need to plan your day out, but make up a homework/study schedule. Set the times when you will start your work, when you will take a break, and recommence. Repeat the same homework schedule on other days and you can get into the habit of doing your homework at, say, 5:00pm every day and it'll be much easier to do it next time.
In The Moment
-Break it up. Big projects are daunting, and you're more likely to procrastinate something big instead of something quick and easy. Sit down and break your task down into smaller steps. My writing assignment is currently 5 bullet points just of what needs to be in my paper. 5 easy-to-swallow pills that I can take one at a time. It's also easy from there to plan your rewards around completing each of these bullet points.
-5-minute rule. I can't tell you how many times this has saved my ass. The hardest part about doing your work is starting it. So, the 5-minute rule is as such: work on your assignment for five minutes, and after those five minutes are up you can stop if you wish. Nine times out of ten, I don't stop. If you do want to stop, then you can, just repeat the strategy after a small break doing something fun.
-Go somewhere else. Also a very effective one for me. So, our environment has a big influence on our mindset. What do I do at my desk? I watch stupid youtube videos and play video games. It is the hub of procrastination for me. If I can't do my work here, I get the hell out of my room and to the library or a coffee shop. It's shocking how this happens, but what I was unable to even begin working on at home is done in an hour at Starbucks.

What i tell myself to do is just push through it. The sooner i finish it the better.
