View Full Version : Underwear brands - Do they anyhow matter?

As the season of insanely chilly days approaches, so does the choice of presents that I am constantly asked about by my relatives, who just care about me too much. Nevertheless, I decided to get myself some underwear, but there is a detail I would like to ask you, my dear enlightened comunnity of teen males. I decide between buying a few peices of underwear of a known, more expensive brand and considerably more pieces of cheaper underwear. My question now does NOT lie in the durability of the clothing as that I've already taken into consideration, it DOES, however, lie in the point of perks of owning and wearing a brand underwear aside from social superiority. Other words... Will I know the practical difference between the two? Do they scratch less or something?

I think it depends on what kind they were.. for me I wear boxer briefs normal brand from Walmart.. this is because my parents still shop for my clothes but that is alright since nobody sees them anyways except for guys in the changeroom and they pretty much wear the same thing... mine are comfy and never really thought a reason to get a brand like Bonds or CK or whatever

I find that the more expensive brands are more comfortable that the cheaper ones. Don't ask me how as they all do the same thing. I have loads of different branded boxer briefs and theink they are of a better quality than the unbranded ones you can get from local supermarkets. I find that they don't stretch as much or wear as quick. Plus I've had girls comment on how they like them

I've got some adidas boxer briefs and they are awesome since aside from the comfort, they are easily washable.
But I do wear "less prestigious" boxer briefs too...it doesn't matter to me.

I'm not sure brand has much to do with anything. But I am more focusing on how they feel... Even though the more name brand have very nice material

I prefer Jockey low rise briefs because of the way they fit. Very comfortable and provide good support. I have tried some others but always go back to Jockey. If you are going to wear any at all be sure they are comfortable.

exactly. you get what you pay for. more money usually means better quality.
plus, as much as I am seen by my girl friend (or other lovers when I am not dating) it is important to have nice looking underwear

Well, I count on it wearing down faster, but the maths is important to do. I just don't want to end up paying for the brand being three times the actual worth just because of a fancy name on the side. *cough* Apple, Gucci,... *cough* :D But I get it, brands aren't the same. I'll just have to devote some precious hours of my life for a research on what is worth it... Looks like the Black Flag will have to wait. :D

i think its more you get what you pay for, so it all falls into what it is you want to spend your money on, and you cant forget the comfort as well. so there are a lot of factors to weigh there, but ultimately it is up to you and how you want to spend vs what you want to wear/ what feels good to you. (i hope that this made sense)

I like the mor expensive brands better mostly because they just feel better like they're softer than the others they're not all the same the expensives are better

I really don't think the brand matters at all. Why pay £26 or what ever it is for Calvin Klein underwear when you can get ASDA or Primary ones in a ten pack for like a £5 or something, especially when the majority of people aren't even going to see them!

one depending on what the ASDA uses for material, CK can feel better and fit better. since you are going to be wearing underwear for majority of the day it is nice to have some which feel and fit good.
second I am seen enough in my underwear to where I do want to make sure I look good in them

I have just those cheap boxer briefs and after few weeks they stretch so much, that we must go buy new. So probably I'll ask parents to buy me more expensive than 6 €

I find that brands like Hollister and American eagle are the comfiest and better quality, they are quite dearer though
