There is no way to tell If someone is gay. The way to see if be is into you is if he flirts with you and tries to make moves on you I guess. Ask him on his views about homosexuality and who he likes and such to find more about his love interests. That's all I can think of hope this helps

I guess when he starts being all bromance-y with you. Well, at least that's what I do with guy friends that I find attractive. :P

How do you know that he's closeted or even gay to begin with? That means he gave you enough suspicion for you to believe he is gay. Many gay guys, myself included, don't really feel the need to come out. If someone asks, I'll tell them, but my relationships are my relationships. So just because he hasn't told you he was gay or out, doesn't mean he isn't. Same as he could just as easily be a straight guy that means well but is leading you on.

So I suggest that if you don't already have enough information to believe he is gay, just ask him if he likes guys and take it from there. Even closeted guys can still have relationships, just it might be awkward.
