My best friend is 17 (I'm 16) and was at my house and was asking my opinion of her getting married to her boyfriend (who is 19) and i kinda joked a little and didn't think much of it. She left and later i was talking to my older brother (my best friend is dating my brothers best friend...) and he asked if i knew her secret and i assumed i knew because she tells me everything important. But then he told me that they had secretly got married and that they didn't tell anyone. I didn't know what to think so i naturally went and texted her and fucking sure enough my best friend got married. My 17 year old best friend got hitched to her 19 year old boyfriend and she didn't say a word to me until i called her out. She said she was just honoring her boyfriends (or should i say new husbands) wishes but i can't believe she wouldn't even tell me anything...... i feel so hurt that she got married without saying something about it to me.... MARRIED!! Am i over reacting????? I don't know how to feel anymore!

She got secretly married at 17???? What a recipe for disaster that is. I understand you'd be annoyed she wouldn't tell you something like that but just let it go & explain to her that your her friend and she can tell you anything.

Well, from what I'm seeiing your friend kinda just made a rather huge mistake. She is so young and yet, she get's married. Not sure if you can talk her out of this. If my best friend did this I would be hurt, definitly.

The reason she said nothing was because it was a secret. That's what secretly marrying entails. It's not such a big thing and if she wants to keep it secret let her. Maybe she was asking to see your opinion on her getting married to test how you would react to that news and if so ur reaction is to blame. I understand it feels like a betrayal but it isn't that much

while starting the marriage off on a lie/secret is not good, try not to take it personally she didn't tell you. once you tell one person, those things have a way of coming out.

I think you're hurt because you care about her. On the other hand she does need to respect his wishes and not spread the news if he isn't ready for other people to know. As her friend you should respect that and support her as much as you can.
