I have a girlfriend that I've been dating for a while. She has a best friend of 10+ years (we'll call her Amanda) that really doesn't like me at all because she thinks I'm trying to "steal Bri (my gf) away from her." Like "oh, I'm soooooo sorry I want to spend lots of time with my girlfriend." Long story short, Amanda asked Bri to promise to not go to my house tomorrow after school. Because Bri is such an awesome friend, she is keeping the promise. I do respect that a lot to be clear. But seriously, what we do on our own time is none of her fucking business and it should stay that way. She has no right to do this. Furthermore, we weren't even going to do anything. Our plans were to watch Netflix and take a nap. Yes, it's possible that things could have escalated but realistically speaking, probably not.

I feel like my life has been taken control of by Amanda and I don't like it. :/

I really hate super-possessive people.

...Which is somewhat ironic, yes, I see that (I tend to be EXTREMELY jealous and possessive at times), but I try my best to butt-out of things and let my friends and lovers do their thing. Hell, I'll be the first to make an effort to try and make friends with whatever other person is involved, if it's reasonable. I'm just kind of a friendly person, and I definitely don't like to dislike people.

But when you just blatantly hate me for no reason other than you want to be the only person in someone's life (um no), yeah, I kind of have a problem with it.

Amanda sounds very insecure. possible abandonment issues. I was trying to get close to this one girl one time, but her friend (whose very voice just wanted to make me smack her silly) would never give us a moment alone. the girl I wanted to try to get with moved away. I still get pissed when I see that ugly cow

try talking to your girlfriend so she can talk to her about it

The best thing to do is let your girlfriend handle her friend. I will say, those types of friendships never last long.

Amanda thinks she can control your relationship,

Seriously though, don't let her do that, spend as much time with your girlfriend as you like, sooner or later Amanda will have to get used to it.

She sounds like a real B***H to me. Tell your GF about how your feeling unless you already have done so.

Awesome responses are the only reason I exist :P (JK, most of them are shit)

Good, no one should control a love life apart from the people involved, she shouldn't have had a say in it in the first place.
