Is it weird that music is the one thing I cant live without. I just find it a bit weird that I could literally be the only thing on the planet or just be locked in a room with nothing and no one forever and I wouldn't care as long as I had my music to listen to :/

I felt a lot like you when I was younger (my first three years of school). I was in love with music. Obsessed by it. I'd for school to end just to open YouTube and find new metal bands to add on my never-endind "to review" list (seriouly that list peaked at 120). I was listening through discographies like a hot knife with butter.
Everything stopped with a big hit of depression/sadness as the girl I was into moved away, both physically and emotionally. Nowadays I'm just chasing the dragon hoping that one day I'll be into it again like before.
...That wasn't exactly positive, sorry :P

I couldn't even imagine living without music, if I were deaf, you could consider me as Dead.

What do you listen to, beyond extreme/progressive metal?

See what I did there? Hehe, actually I listen to pretty much every genres of music, metal being my favorite as well, but I dig classic rock too and really like classical music (my favorite type of metal is symphonic metal) and I even like some pop music such as Michael Jackson and Madonna (the king & the queen), the only types of music I have more difficulty with is hip-hop/rap and country/western (although I absolutely revere Johnny Cash).
What about you, what do you listen to beside metal?

I couldn't agree with you more. Music has helped me in so many ways and I hope one day when I create my own, mine will help others.

For me, music has been a source of enlightenment and in fact, has contributed to make me become much "darker" if I can say.

I have been very biased in favor of metal, to be honest. Recently I've been listening to a bit of EDM (Moombahcore/Glitch Hop) but before just psychedelic rock. Why invest time on other genres if I could use that time to metal? :P

I got to agree, there's so many subgenres of metal and so many incredibly talented bands, such bands that will record albums that will take many listenings to fully appreciate due to their complexity. I will never get enough and there's albums I will never get tired of, I'm listening to The Number of the Beast since I'm 12 and I would listen to it again anytime (speaking of which, its been a while).

I understand completely. Over the last couple years music has become my life. I only wear band shirts, I cant leave the house without my iPod, I'm listening to it 24/7. My parents are constantly moaning that I might as well have my headphones surgically attached xD
