Hey I know this will probably sound stupid but I've been researching and I can't find any laws that prohibit self harm and cutting so my question is, is it illegal?

Stupid, but not illegal. Don't worry about it, but if people find out you will be sent to see a doctor.

Definitely not illegal, but there may be laws or policies stating people of authority (like teachers) have to refer you to someone who will be able to get you help, this isn't something most will do, but just be aware that may happen whether or not you're ready for it

It's not illegal but the police here in the UK do have powers to detain you under the mental health act if they believe you are a threat to yourself or others. I imagine its the same in in most other countries

No, but I'm not sure if this is a law, but if someone finds out about that you are or will be harming yourself or others, they are obliged to tell your parents or respectable adult or a doctor.

No it's not. But if someone found out they may report it and you may be required to see a doctor.

It's not illegal, but if a doctor notices/finds out. They are obliged to tell your parents (if you're under a certain age, at least in Canada) and depending on the severity, they'll either refer you to a psychologist OR bring you to the psych themselves.

No I'm not gonna do something stupid (at least not purposely) but my class was debating should abortion be legal as you can do what you want with your body (weird topic for 14 year olds) and then I started thinking about my cutting and started some research to the laws extent of "control" over the public's body thus leading to this thread

No. However, in the US, if someone calls 911 on you for cutting yourself, a cop will handcuff you and take you to a hospital because they section it under "danger to yourself/others." What the hospital does with you depends on which one you go to, most of them will just stitch you up and send you on your way so long as you are mentally coherent.
