Solo or Band

Do you prefer solo artists or bands. Personally because I like hard rock and heavy metal, I prefer bands.

Generally I prefer bands, but there are some solo artists I do like. Phil Collins, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, David Bowie and Kid Rock are the ones that come to mind.
So yeah, it depends I guess. But I definitely listen to bands more.

I think it really depends. it is awesome when an individual is big enough to pull it off more on his own but there are so so many great bands, past and present (I know it may sound silly, but I love the Beatles) . so it depends , I really don't judge how great they are based on if they are doing it alone or in a group

I find the idea of solo careers to be... a bit pretentious, likeif it werethe only guy that mattered. I genrally avoid solo artists. It's different, however, if the person is a one man band.

So I vote bands.

I listen to more bands than I do solo artists, so I voted bands, but I think both can be equally as good. A lot of solo artists come from bands, and write music just as well as bands do.

I prefer solo. With most bands, people only like the lead singer and don't give a rat's ass about the other members, especially if they're not vocalists. (Take No Doubt, for example. Everyone loves Gwen Stefani but doesn't really care about the other members.) It's rare that you get a band like the Beatles where people like all the members.

I like solo artists more. There are some bands that I like, but music by solo artists seem more personal and the lyrics feel more like they had more meaning to what they're singing about.

My music tastes are weird. If I just chilling at home, or doing school work, I like really old mellow sounds from the 40's and 50's and solo classical piano and guitar. Driving to and from school I like country, old school and very now. My fav artists are Josh Grogan and Lady Annabellam. Like I said it is weird.

I listen to bands mostly but I do listen to solo artists quite often. Especially Lana Del Rey and Marina and The Diamonds :)
I agree with Babiole about the fact that no-one really cares about the rest of the band members most of the time :c
