Hey, I'm new here, and I had some questions regarding ocd, so if anyone could give some advice, that would be great.
My girlfriend has ocd, and I research it and have been there for her throughout, but I just feel like there's more I should do. Does anyone have any advice as far as a support system goes? Like things that I can do to help her with it and support her?

Just let her know that if she's having a hard time she can always talk to you, and I guess try not to act differently around her just do what you normally do.

hey thanks. I was also wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the best ways to find specialists in one's area. Any ideas?

Phone book or google search "OCD specialists in [your city/town here]"

If you really have trouble finding a specialist, your girlfriend could also talk to her general physician or the doctor who diagnosed her, to see if they can help her to find someone who could help her out. She wouldn't necessarily need to see a specialist though. Many therapists, and certainly all psychiatrists, know what OCD is and how to help someone who suffer from it, and may be easier to find than a doctor who only sees people with OCD.
