I don't mean in a way where you drink to be happy, I mean if you are upset or angry about something and you were already planning to go to a party or the pub/club with your mates. Does it cheer you up or does it make you get angrier or more upset? It's a weird question I know. It varies for me but I have ended up doing stupid stuff at times because of it.

Considering just the alcohol, I'd say it enhances any emotion I'm having - if I was happy I'll be happier, if I were more worried I'd be worried-er and so on. The idea of going to a party/club, on the other hand, does cheer me up.

Alcohol-facilitated socialization for the win?

It takes fear away from me completely. Just enhances the upsetness and happiness.

I suppose it would. It takes my mind off things and I feel better..

It can go either way. I guess it depends how you're feeling, what you're doing, who you're with, what the circumstances are.

It doesn't necessarily cheer me up or make me any happier, but it usually makes me a lot more sociable and talkative.

alcohol exhillerates your mood. If your happy about goin out, you'll be happier. it also intensifies secondary emotions too though. if your pissed about somthing, but you say youll deal with it later, and drink, its coming back up and thats what you'll be thinking about

When I drink a lot I do get pretty happy but unfortunately I go and sit in a corner by myself talking to myself... (weird, right?) But that' usually just at my peak.. So, yes I guess it does make me happier

No it doesn't for me. Don't really drink, I just have wine or champagne during special occasions at home. Usually it's just for show and to upset my family to show how mature I can be. I guess it makes me happy in that regard. I don't know.

It depends usually on how I'm feeling at the moment I begin drinking. But more often than not, yes, it does put me in a better mood. The main reason I drink is for that numb feeling, though.

alcohol isn't a good thing, you'd better not drink much at any time

in moderation, it can be a great thing, it can bring people together, on the other hand it can destroy lives, relationships and respect, and if you end up too mangled you make an arse of yourself

Yes, drinking alcohol can cheer you up it can give you a lot of confidence you can do the that can't do when you are in the influence of alcohol

Getting tipsy makes me more social, I'll say that.

if I'm with friends having a good time then it does. drinking alone makes a bad mood worse.

It does at first, I get slap-happy. But further into the night of drinking, sometimes I start crying if I think about my problems, or if I listen to a song, which is why when I drink, I always have to have a distraction.
Crying over songs isn't necessarily a sad moment, just like... a touching one. I don't even cry over sad songs necessarily, just songs I really love, like Jack Killed Mom by Jenny Lewis, I cried because I realized what a talented singer she was.
It just sorta depends.
