Dreadlocks

One of the guys at my school has dreadlocks, and he's white. I thought his hairstyle was cool. But I was wondering if people think it's normal for people who aren't black to get dreads.

What is the deal with white people with dreadlocks? What is the deal with that? As part of our ongoing research, we took to the field last weekend at String Cheese Incident's three-night stand at Red Rocks in an effort to categorize this weird and wonderful species into several sub-phyla. It's a little-known fact that WPDs can use their dreads as a form of antennae, which they employ for many different biological functions. This WPD looks nonchalant, but her left dread, as if by its own accord, appears to be seeking food.
Unlike garden-variety homo sapiens, WPDs are generally herbivorous. To supplement a dearth of the nutrients meat provides, WPDs require a large amount of "the kind ghanj" for sustenance.

People are entitled to style their hair however they want, but in my honest opinion; dreadlocks on any white person looks trashy. Maybe it's because I'm not that particularly fond with druggies and I associate that hairstyle with it, for it just screams "I do drugs! My hair is like this for Bob Marley Woo! 420 Blaze it!"

Back to the point: No I believe dreads should not be a hairstyle white people should use, it looks trashy in my opinion. However to each their own. People can do whatever they want with their style...

Anyone can have dredlocks, I don't like them, I think they're ugly but anyone can have them.

As long as they keep up with them and they look nice. Many jobs won't hire you with them. It's their body.

Most white people don't have the hair texture to pull off dreadlocks imo. If they're not done correctly on the right hair type they end up looking ratsy. But if you can make them work, who am I to say nay? Their hair, not mine.

I don't like them on white people personally.It's dirty.They can't wash their hair for like 3 months or something like that.That's just my opinion and if u like them more power to you.:)

It depends, I guess, on if you have the look to pull it off or not. From what I've seen, though, most white people can't pull it off as well as black people. I probably would think it's weird if anybody other than a black person has dreadlocks

I think everyone is allowed to style their hair they way they like, including white people choosing dreadlocks. I don't see a difference. I have seen some dreadlocks that do look good on white people, as well as black people. Annnd some that don't. I personally wouldn't have them, but I'm not stopping anyone else.

Im not really into the whole dreadlocks thing unless I guess you're from one of the places where its common. Don't you have to not wash your hair for a long time to get them though? That'd bug me so much.

I think everyone should wear the hairstyle they want to. I've seen white people with dreads and it looked good on them, depends on the person.

Everyone's free to have the hair they want. Generally though I don't think dreads look good on white people. Have seen a couple guys with them, but I've only ever seen one white guy who could pull them off..
