I'm 14, and I've noticed lately that I'm constantly hungry. Even after dinner and maybe a snack after, I'm still hungry. Why is this? Am I starting to grow?

that could be it. maybe you're not eating filling foods, or not what your body needs. growing is a big eating time though. so it is probably that or a big part of it

Also, another thing. I just weighed myself, and it looks like I've lost nearly 10 pounds in about two or three weeks, for no reason. This is a good thing as I'm a little overweight, but does this mean I should be eating more?

Yeah, the teen years of growth requires a lot of energy. You are absolutely a normal teen boy. I am 6 4, play sports, and otherwise very active and I am constantly eating and still run out of energy.

It is your metabolism level probably. It usually factors how much you eat and how it affects your body. People with high metabolism are usually always hungry, these are the type of people who usually don't get overweight. People with normal metabolism, it usually depends on what they eat. If they eat less, they don't gain weight. If they eat more, they gain weight over time. Then there are people with low metabolism like myself who eat normally and they gain weight faster anyways.

I agree. There's some foods for me that will definitely fill me up where I cant eat anymore for a long time. But certain foods will never ever fill me up, like pastas. I can eat tons of pasta like foods, but foods like hamburgers will fill me up

Even if you are eating more it would seem you are getting taller and losing some baby fat, you are becoming taller and thinner.

My thinking is that you are entering your growth spurt because your body is demanding a lot of energy. As long as you're eating right and staying away from junk food, then you'll be fine. What you're experiencing will pass within two to three years once you're done growing.

Its a normal stage that most people go thru when they eat a lot because they are maturing and they have their body working at a faster rate so they need to eat more food. If thats not the case then it could be that you arent eating enough protein because that is what fills you up for periods of time.

Maybe you're growing a little and haven't noticed yet? My sister always says my nephew gets a little chunky right before he spurts up height wise and slims down a little when he does (he's 10) and the whole process keeps going.

How active are you? Do you play any sports? Regardless of this, even if you're losing a little weight your body could just be burning lots of energy getting ready to grow and giving your metabolism an insane boost. Or, your metabolic rate could just be changing anyway even if you're not growing so you're eating more. As long as you feel ok, I wouldn't trip

Same! You're just growing faster and need more food. Happens to me too.

your bodys metabolism has speeded up and you are burning more energy than you used to when you were younger, so this is sometimes called your growing spurt and you need more food for energy to build muscle and stuff.

Your body is growing and is using the food rapidly. So, you feel hungry sooner.
