So I'm 14, no I don't have abs, I have a little bit of belly fat, but is really not that much. I'm just wondering is this a complete turnoff to girls?

it might be a turn off to superficial girls. i don't have any belly fat, but i still don't have abs. not all guys have them unless they do tons of sit ups every day.

Personality is first with me. A sense of humor, a touch of romance. Abs are a bonus.

I don't have super defining abs and I never had any complaints from any ladies (not to sound cocky in any way)

no, first, you cannot get abs at 14, and wanting to get abs at this age will only cause you trouble, insecurity and may lead to eating disorders. Abs are a must only if you count on datings shallow bimbos. If you're looking for regular girls, your looks will be far less important than your personality.

@voodoo doughnut: abs are not obtained by doing tons of situps, it's by bodyfat. If you've got a bodyfat below 7% (which is crazy low btw, normal body fat is between 15 and 25% for a man) you'll see abs. Sit ups are 10% of the proceed to get visible abs, the other 90% is cardio and nutrition.

I guess that it depends on the girl. I mean some might think abs are a must others not...it's a matter of taste.
I'm sure you'll find someone who likes you the way you are if you are happy with yourself.

In my opinion, most girls like guys with abs, BUT these girls are stuck up. REAL girls like fat guys (no joke, my friend is fat and he got all the ladies). You should be proud of ur belly fat, in fact go get some more fat curves. In no time u will be a ladies man :)

If he wants abs that is his choice. They are hard to get and it depends on the guy. Some guys look good with them, others no. Some like myself probably won't ever have them because they are overweight. But it's all up to the guy and the girl and what they prefer to like in a person.

I did exercising everyday for few weeks now, and I got small little abs. But then I feel weird cuz I rarely naked or show off my body in front of girl.

Yeah - I had abs for a while (this was when I was pretty shy though) and no one really cared tbh

True, guys with abs are really good to look at, yet I prefer those on guys of the age of 16+, I don't like abs on guys less than that criteria. But honestly, abs don't matter as much as charm and personality. To me, a smart guy is a much bigger turn on.

I know I'm not a girl but I'd like to say something, It's not an complete turn off, most guys don't have abs, only those who work out or work in general. I don't have abs per say but my stomach is flat and I haven't had anyone say its a turn off. Don't worry about not having abs

During early teens many of us non-obese guys tend to have "abs". They are not real muscle but they show up 'cos we haven't got any fat in our bodies...But as puberty progresses 90% of them get filled out and lose their abs unless they work on them by way of crunches etc...
Recently I myself have put on some weight after being stick skinny all my life with abs and stick like limbs. From the 1st day my GF found she could pinch a bit of a love handle to now my waist has gone form 26" to 35" and weight frm 48kg to 63kg in just 2 yrs!!!. Now my "abs " are gone and I have a hint of a tummy and a roll of chub there.
It feels awkward that I'm no longer skinny.
Worst is I am not fat but still look thin so I am skinny-fat. My GF wont mind , she playfully strips me to my briefs & teases me abt my body ....she says whn I go to college & gain freshman weight i will be actually fat and will not feel awkward.
An its sooo embarrasing whn family & friends point at & tease abt my change..I turn beet red in the face.

In my opinion its just an accessory on a guy, its not a must, but it look nice to have them. I don't have them and I think I look fine

Don't feel like you need abs, especially because it's not one of those things that most people can control and girls aren't delusional beings, most of us realize it isn't practical for every guy to be walking down the street super ripped. And don't forget about the girls who actually don't like abs. Just don't feel like you ever have to be a certain way for people to like you or be attracted to you, everyone is different and likes different things so just be yourself and some one will come along and like you, you have plenty of time for all this to fall into place.

I'm not all that attracted to men, but it depends on the girl. Some people are superficial and will date someone only if they meet a certain physical standard. Some people would prefer that they meet a certain standard, but it's not necessary for their partner to do so. Some people don't care at all.
If you want abs, get them. If not, then don't.

Well he's very very skinny. But having the goal to get abs at 14 when you don't have them is really dangerous. You can't go on a caloric deficit when you didn't finnished your puberty, even more unlikely to gain muscle. After pubery, everyone can get muscular or skinny, but it's a lot of hard work, and wanting a ripped body to "get gurlz" is NOT a efficient goal and you're sure you'll never achieve that with this mindset.

Abs look nice but aren't a MUST for me when it comes to my definition of boyfriend material. I guess society views abs as something that makes guys look hotter, but for the nice girls who are actually worth dating, they most likely won't care if you have abs or not as long as you're a great guy. The "nice guys finish last" thing is complete BS. I find it extremely appealing for someone to be sweet, and so does every other girl I know. To answer your question, it's not a must to have abs except for superficial girls which aren't worth getting involved with since it's going to be hard to keep the abs when you're 50. Guys can still be hot without abs, too (contrary to what A&F believes). Don't stress too much on your looks and focus on how you are as a person.

Some girls have an obsession with abs, though even for those girls not having abs isn't always a deal breaker.

The majority of girls however really don't care if a guy has abs or not. Sure, it's a plus with some, though it's almost never a must.

If a girl rejects you because you don't have abs, then you probably don't want to have any relationship with her anyways.
