I was talking to my friend online and I asked what colour his hair is an he told me he was brunette, I later found out that he was black and I've since been wondering if black people could be considered brunettes.
So are they brunettes?

There are some black people who are brunette e.g My best friend is black and he is brunette but his skin tone is very light so I guess that also plays a part.

Yes, genetics are really crazy. That could be connected to him being mixed race or again with genes. Someone older than him in his family had a conflicting hair gene and it mixed onto him.

Genetics can do a lot of interesting things. I mean, there are black people with naturally blonde hair (I don't know if this can happen outside of albinism though.)

It's very possible for black people to be brunette. A lot of black people's hair is kind of a dark brown rather than jet black. Also, your friend could have bleached his hair and is an unnatural brunette.
