'Psychedelic' substance causes vomiting incident at Prior Lake High School

Seven students at Prior Lake High School, 7575 150th St., Savage, became violently ill and started projectile vomiting after ingesting a substance that had been purchased over the Internet. Savage police received the call at about 1 p.m. on Oct. 23.
The substance — Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seed extract – is said to have psychedelic effects on its users, but if a person takes too much, he or she can become very sick. While the seeds themselves are legal to purchase and possess, it is illegal to possess the extract from the seeds.
The case is under investigation.
