You are allowed to stay here after you turn 20 (and more) provided you follow the rules just like everyone else and keep it aproproiate.

Per the FAQ (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/faq.php?faq=rules#faq_membership):
Members who join before age 13 will have their account frozen until they are 13 in order to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Members who registered while they were a teenager are welcome to stay past the age of 19, assuming they continue to behave in an appropriate manner on the forums. The staff reserve the right to ban a user at any time at their discretion. All ban reasons are kept confidential within the staff. Should you feel the need to inquire about a ban, you may ask an administrator, however, there is no guarantee you will be given any information.
So basically, as long as you join before you're 20, you're theoretically welcome to stay as long as you please, assuming you abide by the rules. Most people however don't stay much past that; there becomes a point when you just naturally grow out of VT.

I can almost guarantee you that if someone was getting older than 30 and whatnot, we would likely (or at least, I would lol) use our discretion to ban them. There does become a point where it's flat out creepy. 35 year olds do not need to be communicating with young teenagers on a teen forum. nope nope. I don't know why they'd want to anyways. The maturity gap is so huge, even from a 20 year old to a 13 year old, let alone 35.. and I'd hope you have better things to do at 35 than be creepily on a teen forum.
i am aware that (i think) you weren't serious but it's a good point that I can make from it.

That might cause confusion. I don't see why the child couldn't just create their own account?

But that's the point! :D
His kids, and his grandkids, and great grandkids, all use the same account...and eventually if VT lasts for years...there'll be a 200yr old user. :D

The User-Account relationship is 1-1. Only one account per user, only one user per account.
Plus, at an administrative level, it doesn't make sense. You'd keep rolling back the age and clearing infractions per generation? What if the guardian is a creep and uses the account in their kid's name?
It's not a great idea.
