I am in a long term relationship with my boyfriend, and things are lovely.

But I may be moving away (approximately a 1 hour drive away) to pursue a job I really want.

I have always said I would never let a relationship change what I want to do in life this is why I am sure I want to move.

I am just very worried about 1. telling my boyfriend and 2. maintaining the relationship.

Neither of us drive and I would only come back to my old home once every two weeks or so, and only for a night.

I know he would be happy that I was pursuing a job I really want, but I don't want him to be upset or angry, which I know are normal feelings in this situation.

Im just terrified that things won't work out and i'll ruin our relationship.

Any advice please?

I'm sure he'll be supportive if not a little upset. Distance really can make or break a relationship. He might be able to get public transport to come visit you or vice-versa. I would say to take the job though. :)

I fully agree here. There's many ways to still communicate with your bf

be honest with him. some people do really well in long distance relationships. some don't. talk to him about it and see how he feels. if you are willing to give it a chance go for it.

if you got the chance to get a job you love, whether the relationships lasts or not, if he cares enough about you, he will let you go for it. if it does end, doesn't mean (necessarily) he does not care about you, that is not what I am trying to say.

you can only try and see what happens. if you are old enough to be taking a job somewhere else, is he old enough to possibly move into that area with you?
